Welcome to Meadows Elementary School

Dear Parents,
Welcome to Meadows Elementary School! Whether you are new to Meadows or a continuing family, the 2011-2012 PTA board is proud and excited to be serving our school and your children. The PTA at Meadows is an active community, and we invite all parents to join us in supporting your children and their teachers in one of the various ways possible:

-Membership: A basic PTA Membership is $10 (per adult) - $4.50 of this goes to PTA National and State PTA dues for educational advocacy for our children. The remainder is a donation to the Meadows PTA fund, so please consider making an additional donation to cover the expenses needed to fully support and supplement your child's education with the tools, events and programs that Meadows PTA wants to provide.

-Donations: By asking $150 per child, we hope to reach our goal of raising $20,000 for our Meadows PTA fund. This is less than $1 a day for each day your child is in the classroom. Your donation is what makes your child's year possible. This includes field trips, technology (SmartBoards, cameras, ink, software, etc), book fairs, assemblies, classroom supplies, and many more programs that benefit your child(ren)'s education.

-No-Hassle Fundraising: With your every-day expenses, you can help fund additional expenses for our school via eScrip, Lucky S.H.A.R.E.S., General Mills Box Tops, and Office Depot. More information will be provided on each opportunity for this 'free' funding.

-Volunteering: Please consider being actively involved in your child's education by helping at school events, including, but not limited to activities that occur during regular school hours. Your help is what keeps our school going! By seeing you invest your time in their school, your children benefit with increased motivation in their work, which raises their self-esteem and pride, therefore improving their educational experience and growth.

-PTA Meetings: These meetings are your chance for your voice to be heard. Decisions on how your membership and donations are spent are presented and voted on at these meetings, so your attendance is highly suggested and encouraged! We want to get to know you!

-Electronic Mail: By going paperless and using electronic mail, we hope to save $4,000-$6,000 of your donations which would be better spent in their classrooms and for activities for your children. On the membership form (which must be submitted by Sept 21st), there is an opt-in for Paperless notices, and your child will no longer bring home paper newsletters and notices from the PTA.

Please feel free to contact any of the PTA Board members with any other questions or concerns.

Sincere regards from your 2011-2012 PTA Board:
